AMP plugin with Google Analytics

The HTML-to-AMPHTML converter and the AMPHTML plugins automatically insert Google Analytics tracking codes into the Google AMP page. Even multiple account tracking is supported!

Insert <amp-analytics> tag

The Accelerated Mobile Pages Generator automatically detects whether a Google Analytics tracking code is installed on your own site and reads out the corresponding Google Analytics tracking ID , i.e. the UA number .

The AMPHTML generator also recognizes the possible use of several UA numbers , as is used, for example, in 'Multiple Account Tracking' . The AMP online generator automatically converts all Google Analytics UA numbers into an 'amp analytics' tag and thus also activates the previously existing Google Analytics tracking on the AMP page!

With this type of Google Analytics integration, all analytics tracking data for the AMP page appear in your own (!) Google Analytics account , so you will continue to receive all AMP tracking data collected in the usual place!

The AMP online generator supports all of the following Google Analytics versions:

  • Google Analytics 360 ° (analytics.js)
  • Universal Analytics (analytics.js)
  • Google Analytics (ga.js)
  • Urchin Analytics (urchin.js)

Google Analytics IP anonymization 'anonymizeip'

In some countries (e.g. Germany), another condition must be met in order to be able to use Google Analytics in compliance with data protection: the use of IP anonymization. For this reason, the Accelerated Mobile Pages Generator automatically supports the Google Analytics function 'anonymizeip' and sets the last octet of an IPv4 address or the last 80 bits of an IPv6 address to zero before saving the user data. This means that a complete IP address is never written to a hard drive on the Google Analytics server!

Google Analytics IP anonymization is not actively implemented by the Accelerated Mobile Pages generator, but is a standard setting of the 'amp-analytics' tag from the official AMPHTML documentation .

Data on the 'amp-analytics' tag are generally transmitted anonymously!

Google Analytics data protection information for AMP sites

In order for the automatic addition of Google Analytics tracking to be used in compliance with data protection regulations, it requires an explicit note in the data protection declaration of your website!

On the generated AMP pages that are accessed via, at the end of each AMP page reference is made to the data protection declarations of, which contain the necessary data protection information for Google Analytics tracking.
